Phosphorit constructs additional Sulfur storage facilities

EuroChem announced today that its Kingisepp-based subsidiary Phophorit has begun constructing additional sulfur storage capacity. At an estimated cost of RUB 560 million, the new facilities are designed to ensure adequate storage is provided to support the mill’s 850,000 tonne annual sulfuric acid production.

The project includes the construction of a warehouse facility capable of storing 10,000 tonnes of sulfur and an open air facility with 20,000 tonnes of storage capacity. The construction of these facilities, which includes the installation of an elevated railroad section and a second melting unit, is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2011.
