EuroChem and Rosneft sign natural gas supply contract

Moscow, 23 May 2014 – EuroChem today announced that it has agreed to a six-year gas supply contract with Rosneft. The agreement, which was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by EuroChem CEO Dmitry Strezhnev and Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin, foresees deliveries of 9.83 billion cubic meters of gas by the end of 2019.

Commenting on the signing of the agreement, Igor Sechin said: “We are proud to see this agreement pave the way for cooperation between our two companies. This long-term contract is evidence that Rosneft and EuroChem see great potential for expanding mutually beneficial areas of partnership, which could eventually go beyond gas sales”.

Dmitry Strezhnev noted that: “Given its importance as a feedstock, natural gas plays a crucial role in securing our competitiveness on the global fertilizer markets. This agreement covers 64% of the gas needs of our plant in the Tula region, while helping to further diversify our natural gas supply as we seek to expand production.”
